Corona: Current information

In accordance with the current Coronavirus Protection Ordinance, from 8.1.2022 the 2G-Plus regulation applies to visits to the museum as well as to participation in events and visits to the scientific library. For admission, in addition to a vaccination certificate or proof of recovery, an antigen test certificate from an official test centre (not older than 24 hours), a PCR test certificate (not older than 48 hours) or the test booklet in the case of schoolchildren is required. Persons who have already received a booster vaccination do not need additional proof of testing.

Please show the documents in conjunction with an official photo ID at the entrance. Wearing a medical mouth-nose mask (FFP2, KN95, N95 or comparable without exhalation valve, surgical mask) is mandatory for the entire stay.

In order to make visiting the exhibition safe during the Corona pandemic, the Goethe House and the academic library will be opened and events will be held in accordance with a comprehensive hygiene plan that was developed and implemented according to official guidelines. The precautionary measures for infection control include a strict reduction of the permitted number of visitors as well as increased cleaning of neuralgic points. The officially issued regulations and recommendations of the Robert Koch Institute, the federal and state governments, the Museum Association and the authorities of the City of Frankfurt apply.

Precautionary measures

  • Acutely ill persons must refrain from visiting the exhibition and events. Please stay at home if you have cold symptoms. This also applies if you are in quarantine by official order and are classified as a contact person.

  • 2G-Plus-regulation:

Vaccinated: presentation of proof of full vaccination via Corona warning app, CovPass app or Luca app, printed vaccination certificate or vaccination certificate. Anyone who has received all partial vaccinations and whose last vaccination was at least 14 days ago is considered fully vaccinated. Or also who is considered to have already recovered and has received a vaccination with one of the four permitted vaccines.

Convalescent: Presentation of proof of recovery, i.e. proof of previous infection with coronavirus, if the underlying testing was done by laboratory diagnosis using a PCR or PoC-PCR test and at least 28 days and a maximum of 90 days have passed.

    NEGATIVE DETECTION IS ALSO REQUIRED:
Antigen test proof (not older than 24 hours), PCR test proof (not older than 48 hours) or proof of a booster vaccination.

For pupils under 18 years of age, a negative test in the school test booklet is accepted as proof.
During the school holidays, in view of the current situation, we also ask pupils to provide negative proof (proof of vaccination, convalescence, antigen test or PCR test). We follow the recommendation of the Frankfurt Health Department here. Thank you for your support!

The documents must be shown at the museum or event box office.

Exceptions: The 2G-Plus-regulation does not apply to children under 6 years of age or to children who have not yet started school and to persons who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons and who prove this by a written medical certificate that also includes their full name and date of birth, plus proof of a negative rapid test, no more than 24 hours old, issued by a recognised testing centre (PCR test: not older than 48 hours).

  • Wearing a medical mouth-nose mask (FFP2, KN95, N95 or comparable without an exhalation valve, surgical mask) is compulsory for the entire visit. Please bring this with you or purchase it on site at cost price.

  • Please wash or disinfect your hands regularly during your stay. Disinfection dispensers are available for you.

  • Keep a distance of at least 1.5 - 2 metres from other people.

  • Please avoid shaking hands. Please observe the sneeze and cough etiquette.

  • For your cloakroom, please use the lockers available in the ticket office. No liability is assumed for the use of the coat racks.

  • Please follow the instructions of the staff.

We thank you for your support and understanding. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
