The Paulskirche in Frankfurt was the scene of numerous national commemorations during the German Empire. Among the former parliamentarians to be honoured on those occasions were Ernst Moritz Arndt, Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, Wilhelm Jordan and Ludwig Uhland.
